Extended Care for Your Pet
Although some pets may be released to go home within a few hours of admission, many will be referred back to your regular veterinary hospital the next day for continued hospitalization, treatment, and tests. Your pets medical records will be faxed to your regular veterinary hospital, or to the hospital of your choice.
We stress that proper follow-up care is of great importance to the successful outcome of all cases. Even when an office visit to your veterinarian is not immediately called for, we suggest you call their office the morning following your visit to the AEUC. If you do not have a veterinarian, please consult the Bakersfield Area Veterinary Hospitals map available in our reception area.
Transferring your pet
Please do not worry about the trip to your veterinarian in the morning with your pet. Our nursing staff will help you to your car with your pet and your regular veterinarians staff will assist you when you arrive at their facility. We will also contact your veterinarian prior to your arrival there, either by fax or phone call, so they can be expecting you and your pet.
